Job Description

Springfield roofing company seeks full-time bookkeeper.

Requirements include:

  • College coursework in accounting principals and practices.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting/bookkeeping position.
  • Experience with AP, AR, payroll, and tax reporting.
  • Experience working for a contractor a plus.
  • Experience in a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create invoices in QuickBooks and update Excel accounts receivable spreadsheet.
  • Enter bills into QuickBooks and update Excel accounts payable spreadsheet.
  • Enter payments into QuickBooks, update Excel accounts receivable spreadsheet and take deposits to the bank.
  • Reconcile QuickBooks accounts receivable and accounts payable reports with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Pay bills using QuickBooks and update Excel accounts payable spreadsheet.
  • Take appropriate discounts.
  • Submit contractor’s exempt purchase certificate and tax exempt certificate when necessary.
  • Update job cost sheets.
  • Update weekly payroll attendance sheet with correct job code and hours worked for each employee and submit for processing.
  • Enter payroll information into QuickBooks and update gross payroll and apprentice spreadsheets.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll when necessary.
  • Prepare and submit union Excel spreadsheets monthly.
  • Submit quarterly Use tax reports.
  • Assist with bid preparations.
  • Create schedules of value, pay applications and lien waivers.
  • Deliver bids when needed.
  • Purchase office supplies.
  • General office duties: take phone messages, type documents, etc.

Hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
