Treatment Team Care Specialist Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SWVMHI), part of the Commonwealth of Virginia's behavioral health system, is seeking qualified candidates for a Treatment Team Care Specialist position.
SWVMHI is a progressive inpatient facility whose mission is to promote mental health by assisting people in their recovery.
The Treatment Team Care Specialist enhances the programming package of the Admissions Unit through concentrating 75% of available time in the provision of active treatment, providing consultation to Unit Treatment Team and Nursing personnel.
The qualified candidate will focus a majority of clinical service provisions in the area of substance abuse treatment.
Must have knowledge of group and individual treatment techniques, ability to utilize a customer service mindset in which patients, families, community and fellow providers are all viewed as customer groups.
Must be able to utilize basic computer skills to track service hours and other relevant data.
Must be able to assist the Unit Programs Director in focusing programming on the needs of the patients with a primary focus on substance abuse treatment.
Must also be able to communicate clearly with all stakeholders and customer groups, and market services effectively to treatment teams and other relevant parties.

Strongly prefer Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, and/or Developmental Disabilities.
Gradua-tion from high school with college Bachelor's level coursework and a combination of relevant training and experience is required.
Strongly prefer Substance Abuse treatment provider credentials such as Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and/or Master Addictions Counselor endorsement.
Experience in planning and implementing substance abuse rehabilitation preferred.
