Part of a small team performing Internal Research and Development of new technologies in the area of missile defense. Research areas include Target Discrimination, Target Tracking, Guidance and Control (G&C), Trajectory Optimization, Realtime Mission Planning, Energy Management, Seeker/GNC Integration, and Operational Software Architectures for missile interceptor systems. Development of high-fidelity 6-degree-of-freedom simulations, trajectory design techniques, new guidance and control algorithms, time domain and frequency domain analysis tools, control system design, optimization tools and techniques, and operational software. Performing trade studies and communicating important results to leadership. Collaboration across disciplines, programs, and Lockheed Martin business areas. Ability to obtain Secret Clearance required for this role. Final Secret Clearance required at start.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace, or other related discipline from an accredited college/university . This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen.
JAVA, C, C++, C#, LABVIEW, LAB WINDOWS programming experience. Experience with programming in Fortran, C, Matlab, Simulink, and Unix shell scripting. Fundamental knowledge of program planning principles. Experience developing real-time embedded software. Guidance system design and analysis. Knowledge of Guidance, Navigation and control. Knowledge of Rigid Body Dynamics. Working knowledge of high speed aerodynamics. Proficient with Microsoft Office Products. Strong technical communication skills.
