Job Description

PURPOSE

One Sky Flight, the second-largest private aviation company, is currently seeking qualified candidates to join our Human Resources Department as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist. Overall, this position will assist with the preparation and distribution of payroll files and earning statements for several business units. In addition, the selected candidate will support all aspects of employee benefits and benefit information and provide information to new and current employees. Based on current department needs this position will report directly to the Payroll Manager or the Benefits Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll:

  • Ensure payroll processing is completed in a timely manner consistent with company deadlines
  • Assist with processing & submission of semi-monthly payroll information to Ultimate Software
  • Coordinate and perform activities to update employee's records within the HR department
  • Perform various HR and payroll reporting, and employment verification as required
  • Perform daily and weekly audits of payroll, timecard entry activity, and employment changes
  • Assist with completion of month end, quarter end and year end reconciliation of payroll tax records
  • Assist in the coordination and completion of internal and external audits of the Company
  • Support the Payroll Manager and/or the Benefits Manager by completing special assignments and other miscellaneous duties assigned through department needs
  • Resolves conflicts with Payroll Provider for the purpose of verifying or correcting possible paycheck issues

  • Enter information into benefits platform of payroll processing system
  • Assist with employee benefits questions and direct to appropriate sources for resolution
  • Support Benefits Specialists as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or similar discipline; 1-3 years experience in HR related field with specific responsibility for payroll processing; a combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of payroll concepts, practices, and procedures along with HR laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of benefits, HR laws and regulations
  • Experience with Ultimate Software, Automatic Data Processing (ADP) or comparable HRIS system
  • Able to independently use MS Office products and other technology packages
  • Previous Accounting experience a plus
